INTERN NURSES DONATE CLINICAL EQUIPMENT TO FEDERAL NEUROPSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL, ENUGU

The 2025/2026 set of intern nurses at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu (FNHE), has donated clinical equipment to the hospital as they conclude their one-year internship programme.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the hospital, the Medical Director, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozichukwu Nneka Unaogu, expressed profound appreciation to the interns, describing the donation as a thoughtful and commendable gesture.

«”This is a wonderful initiative. I do not think any previous set of intern nurses who trained in this hospital has presented equipment to the institution. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness,” she said.»

The donated equipment includes:

• Eight (8) Standing Blood Pressure (BP) Apparatus
• Two (2) Electronic Blood Pressure Monitors
• Three (3) Pulse Oximeters

Dr. Unaogu noted that the donation reflected the interns’ understanding of the hospital’s needs after spending a year in the institution. She observed that they had identified some of the challenges faced in patient care and responded by providing equipment that would enhance clinical service delivery.

She assured the interns that the equipment would be judiciously utilized for the purpose for which it was donated and properly maintained to ensure long-term service to patients.

Present at the presentation ceremony were the Medical Director, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozichukwu Nneka Unaogu; the Head of Clinical Services, Dr. Vincent Ubochi; the Ag. Head of Nursing Services, Deputy Director of Nursing – Mr. Godian Ukwuije; the Chief Nursing Officer, Ms. Jane Agomoh; and members of the 2025/2026 intern nurses’ set, led by their Prefect, Mr. Jovita Okonta.

The donation marks a memorable conclusion to the interns’ one-year training programme at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu, and demonstrates their commitment to supporting quality healthcare delivery beyond their period of training.
