The Department of Occupational Therapy was established in 1985 to provide Rehabilitation services to the patients in the hospital. The operation of the department has been mental health services.
Meanwhile, with the facility and human resource development in the hospital, the department has progressed into other service areas and now offers rehabilitation services for all ages.
Occupational Therapy key services are as follows:
- Social skill training
- Stress management and psychosocial problems affecting daily functional performance.
- Activities of daily living training
- Community Integration
- Facilitation of normal development in children with disabilities.
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- Facilitation of normal Sensory processing for normal adaptive behavior.
The department has continued to contribute it's quota in the recovery of different categories of patients in the hospital which has impacted their functional restoration and overall quality of life.
