Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Enugu (FNHE) was initially established in 1962 as an Outpatient Unit located at the blood bank of General Hospital Enugu. Shortly after the Biafran-Nigerian Civil War in 1970, the hospital was later moved to a private facility and subsequently to its current site at Chime Avenue, New Haven, Enugu. The hospital was taken over by the Federal Government in 1995 from the State Government and it provides mental health services to people of South-East, some parts of South-South and North-Central Geopolitical Zones. Since inception as a Federal Government facility, three chief executives had laboured to bring it to its current status. 

My vision for the hospital is to ensure the provision of quality, affordable, equitable and accessible mental health services to the areas that access care from the hospital which include South-East, parts of South-South and North-Central Nigeria.

My mission for the hospital is to use highly qualified professionals include Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatric Social Workers, Pharmacists, Medical Laboratory Scientists, IT Professionals & other Scientists to deliver efficient and timely mental healthcare to the teeming population of patients with mental illness. 

1. Corporate governance in a peaceful and harmonious working environment will always be maintained. This will enable common men and women to do uncommon positive things. I encourage and ensure that every staff performs better than they seem capable of. Whatever strength each staff has is being encouraged so that such strength will not only be fully utilized but also help others to perform optimally. 

2. Sourcing and working with the needed manpower - psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists and psychiatric social workers - for efficient and effective service delivery.
